Killer of Man at Housing Project Is Sought

Police searched Wednesday for the person or people responsible for the shooting death of a 42-year-old man in the Jordan Downs housing project in Watts.
Andre McNeil had gone to a friend’s home in the project on East 97th Street to watch the Lakers basketball game Tuesday evening when he got into an argument with one or more males. “There was a verbal dispute, and then he was shot multiple times,” said Los Angeles Police Department Det. Chris Barling, adding that McNeil may have been shot by more than one person. Anyone with information on the shooting can call Barling at (213) 485-6902.
