D.A. to Seek Death for Corona Man

Riverside County Dist. Atty. Grover Trask decided Tuesday to seek the death penalty against Jose Luis Leon, the 24-year-old Corona man who allegedly stabbed to death the grandmother and 13-year-old brother of his former girlfriend.
John Davis, the deputy district attorney who’s prosecuting the case, said the death penalty should be sought because Leon’s alleged repeated stabbing of Austin Perez on May 1 was “absolutely senseless, and only done to stop him from being a witness to [Leon’s alleged] killing of the grandmother.”
Davis said Leon has confessed to the killings and has reenacted them on videotape.
