Man Who Was Rescued From House Fire Dies

A Santa Ana man who was rescued from his burning home Saturday has died, officials said.
Robert Searles, 66, died at UCI Medical Center in Orange, coroner’s officials said.
The 9 p.m. blaze gutted his home in the 2100 block of Avalon Avenue and caused $125,000 in damage, said Capt. Randy Black, spokesman for the Santa Ana Fire Department.
The causes of the man’s death and the fire are under investigation, Black said.
