Pavarotti to play Staples Center
Luciano Pavarotti may or may not have retired from the opera stage, but he certainly is still doing his bit for the art form. As a benefit for the Los Angeles Opera, the Italian tenor will perform in concert at Staples Center on March 11.
For the one-night-only event, the center will be configured to create a concert hall-type setting, and Pavarotti will be accompanied by the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra, conducted by Leone Magiera.
Front and center floor tickets are $750 (including dinner and reception, available through L.A. Opera); all other tickets ($50 to $170), go on sale Feb. 3 at Ticketmaster.
