NBC officially opened its refurbished Studio 5 in Burbank on Monday as the new home of news programming for Spanish-language stations KVEA-TV Channel 52 and KWHY-TV Channel 22.
With English-language KNBC-TV Channel 4 already headquartered there, the network said, the new operation represents the first time that one facility is being used to house three TV stations broadcasting in two languages.
KVEA and KWHY, formerly based in Glendale, are part of Telemundo, the Spanish-language network that was acquired by General Electric, NBC’s parent, in 2002.
