C-130 Crashes Into House; 17 Killed

An Algerian military plane slammed into a house west of the capital, Algiers, killing up to 17 people, authorities said.
Fire raged through several houses after the C-130 Hercules transport plane crashed in the neighborhood of Beni Mered shortly after takeoff from the Boufarik military airport, 25 miles southwest of the capital.
Rescuers said five crew members and 12 people on the ground were killed.
