A 58-year-old San Rafael man was recovering after falling 200 feet while climbing Mt. Shasta, Siskiyou County sheriff’s officials said Wednesday.
Tom Tacchi was at 12,000 feet when he fell, officials said. Other climbers helped get Tacchi to Lake Helen, where a Department of Forestry and Fire Protection helicopter picked him up.
He was listed in fair condition at Mercy Medical Center in Mount Shasta.
