Council OKs $1 Million in Suit by 6 Officers

The Los Angeles City Council agreed Friday to pay $1 million to six police officers who say they were unfairly disciplined for rowdy behavior during an off-duty trip to Laughlin in 1999.
The officers were accused of unbecoming conduct and docked pay, and then found not guilty during a board of rights hearing.
However, their pay was not restored and they sued the city for $3.6 million. All but one is still with the Police Department.
