Five teachers were selected Tuesday as Orange County’s educators of the year.
Each will receive $15,500, said William M. Habermehl, superintendent of the Orange County Department of Education.
The winners are Santa Ana College anthropology professor Sandra Wood; Candy Mack, a science teacher at Los Alisos Intermediate School in Mission Viejo; Tustin High chemistry and physics teacher Paul Lewanski; Shauna Kadel, a fourth-grade teacher at Bryant Ranch Elementary in Yorba Linda; and Pauline Maranian, who teaches drama and English at Estancia High in Costa Mesa.
The four winners in the K-12 category will represent the county in the statewide Teachers of the Year program.
