Two suspects in bombings last year in Bali, Indonesia, testified that Abu Bakar Bashir, on trial for treason, was the head of Jemaah Islamiah, a Southeast Asian network blamed for the attacks.
Four Bali suspects, including Imam Samudra, the alleged coordinator of the attacks, were flown to Jakarta, the capital, to testify. One of them, Mukhlas, said he knew Osama bin Laden.
Bashir is not charged in the Bali attacks but is suspected in church bombings and an assassination attempt against President Megawati Sukarnoputri when she was vice president.
