Re “GOP Rep. Issa Donates $445,000 Toward Effort to Recall Governor,” May 24: There is no doubt that Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Vista) is hungry for power and he’s using his car-alarm fortune to prove it. In a futile campaign, he’s trying to get the governor’s job through the back door by contributing almost half a million dollars to the effort to recall Gov. Gray Davis. Of course, that amount of money does not dent his bankroll. But it does show how rich politicians attempt to use their wealth for power in the guise of aiding the populace.
Maybe Issa, as a member of the House of Representatives, should be recalled for contributing to the uncontrolled spending and tax cuts that have sent the national deficit soaring and for allowing millions of jobs to be lost in a sinking economy.
