The murder conviction of a Palmdale man who shot his 20-year-old girlfriend, put her in a car trunk, drove her to the desert, shot her again and left her to die was upheld Thursday.
A three-justice panel from the state’s 2nd District Court of Appeal rejected Adrian Armando Chaparro’s claim of legal errors in his trial. He was convicted of killing Patricia Ayala of Palmdale after they went to a New Year’s Eve party in 1998.
