Re “Military Fires Opening Salvo Over Land Use,” Nov. 6: Your sub-headline states: “The governor-elect is warned in a letter that national security is at stake if a city is built on Tejon Ranch near area where pilots train.” National security seems to be the buzzword for all manner of intrusions into our lives. (Try opening a new bank account or getting a loan.) What interests are really at stake here? If the Air Force is truly concerned about national security, it can train pilots over our borders.
