San Luis Obispo County has agreed to $710,000 in damage payments because of a levee break that caused severe flooding almost three years ago.
The county’s actual cost to settle the three claims will be just under $500,000, with insurance covering the rest.
More than $1 million has already been paid to settle with property owners in Nipomo and Oceano since the March 2001 floods.
The settlements approved last week by the county Board of Supervisors included $300,000 for Oceano Farms, $215,000 for Bejo Seeds and $195,000 for Ikeda Brothers.
