Re “A Not-So-Quick Getaway Test by Plane and Car,” Behind the Wheel, July 6:
If Jennifer Oldham, your regional aviation reporter, really wanted to make sure she beat Sharon Bernstein, your ground transportation reporter, in their respective trips from Los Angeles to San Francisco, she would not have flown out of LAX.
Oldham could much more easily have flown out of Burbank (again on Southwest) or even out of Long Beach, avoiding the congestion at LAX, which might have saved her 30 to 60 minutes.
