Anger at Chicken Abuse

As a third-year law student and a longtime vegetarian, I was sickened to read “Video Sparks Inquiry Into Apparent Chicken Abuse” (July 20).
The article indicates that an undercover People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals video shows chickens being kicked and stomped on by workers at a Kentucky Fried Chicken supplier.
I am thrilled that a West Virginia prosecutor, Lucas See, is taking these reprehensible actions seriously and looking into felony charges. Thank goodness that 41 states now have felony animal-cruelty charges for just this type of abnormal, vicious behavior. People who torture animals are a danger to the animals and society.
