Genome Sequence of Dog Is Completed

Scientists interested in dogs and diseases have a new genetic resource: the freshly assembled genome sequence of a boxer named Tasha. Tasha’s DNA should be a powerful tool because dogs have been intensively inbred and, as a result, suffer from many genetic diseases that plague human beings, scientists said.
