CNBC trims its nightly news

CNBC is canceling its nightly newscast hosted by John Siegenthaler, the latest move in the network’s overhaul of its evening lineup to feature more entertainment.
The program’s last day will be May 14; it will be replaced by a Monday rerun of “Meet the Press” and “Cover to Cover.”
The news staff will be reassigned within NBC News, while Siegenthaler, long a rising star at NBC News, will become a special correspondent on “NBC Nightly News.”
