Maybe We Shouldn’t Be Picking and Grinning

Is it a prerequisite that the writers at The Times who pick the winners of key games must know absolutely nothing about football? Pete Thomas’ strange selections have already been chronicled by the Page 2 “columnist,” who now needs to devote equal space to Thomas Bonk and his erratic prognostications.
Bonk’s picks in this past weekend’s three best games were New England, Denver and Minnesota. May I suggest you hook up with a couple of kids who serve as sports editors for their local high school newspapers. Guaranteed, they will be more accurate than Thomas and Bonk.
