DeLay Puts Politics First

Re “DeLay Fires Up GOP Troops for Counterattack,” April 3: Recent outbursts by House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Texas) make me question whether he has even read the Constitution that as a member of Congress he is supposed to uphold. He doesn’t seem to understand the fundamental tenets of separation of powers and checks and balances. DeLay’s comments don’t just undermine the judiciary but undermine our concept of democracy.
I am beginning to realize that DeLay’s sole consideration has been to motivate the Republican base rather than to protect Terri Schiavo.
