Hiroshima Marked in Las Vegas, Across U.S.

Peace activists from across the nation gathered in Las Vegas to mark the 60th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima. About 400 people attended a conference titled “Many Stories, One Vision for a Nuclear-Free World,” which included speeches focused on peace and the elimination of nuclear weapons.
Peace demonstrations were held at the Los Alamos nuclear weapons lab in New Mexico, at the Lawrence Livermore nuclear weapons lab in California and at the Y-12 nuclear weapons plant in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
