Sting Gets Elusive Win

Sheri Sam scored 11 of her 26 points in the two overtimes, and the Charlotte Sting ended a 10-game skid Saturday night with an 82-73 victory over the Detroit Shock at Charlotte, N.C.
Charlotte (4-22) won for the first time since July 7 and delivered Muggsy Bogues his first victory as Sting coach.

Connecticut 74, Indiana 65 -- Nykesha Sales matched her season high with 26 points at Indianapolis for the Sun (20-6), which overcame a 10-point first-half deficit and 20 turnovers.

New York 79, Seattle 67 -- Ann Wauters had 18 points for the host Liberty (13-12), which led by 12 at halftime and pushed its lead to 49-32 two minutes into the second half.
