Where the action isn’t this summer

I was amazed that Rachel Abramowitz could spend an entire article exploring the recent failure of several high-profile action movies [“Pause in the Action,” Aug. 8] without mentioning the most obvious explanation: The movies that failed also stunk.
All the verbal tap-dancing about “zeitgeist” and the changing nature of the marketplace ignores the obvious: It’s the quality, stupid.
