From Times Staff and Wire Reports
A brush fire started by a burning truck scorched about 25 acres of chaparral Thursday afternoon along the north side of the Foothill Freeway, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
The blaze, which started about 2:15 p.m., was controlled by four water-dropping helicopters and about 100 firefighters in less than two hours, officials said. No structures were threatened, but smoke forced the temporary closure of the freeway’s westbound lanes near La Tuna Canyon Road.
