Shirley, our cherie

I enjoyed your article about Shirley MacLaine, although it didn’t mention my favorite MacLaine movie: a little gem called “The Trouble With Harry.” As for her beliefs in reincarnation, crystals, UFOs, etc., so what? She’s a great movie star and entitled to her opinions just like everyone else.
After all, George Bush started a war based on phantom WMDs and other fairy tales, and he’s (supposedly) the leader of our great country.

THANK you, Mary McNamara, for the intriguing and riveting article on Shirley MacLaine, my personal role model. She is dynamic, alive, thoughtful, challenging, independent and a laughing Buddha-ess, a great example of how to live life joyously, following one’s own personal path. Light the way, Shirley, and I’ll continue to crawl out on the limb with you.

PRAISES! What a well-written, fabulous article about a woman I have admired for years. You really took me to her house and sat me down at the table. I couldn’t get enough and found myself wishing it was a book instead of a short foray into Shirley’s life.
