Man Arrested in Wife’s Killing This Month

A man who told police that his wife might have been murdered in a botched robbery was arrested Friday in connection with her death, police said.
Marvin Smith, a landlord who turns 69 on Wednesday, was arrested at his Los Angeles office after police executed a search warrant. He is being held at the Orange County Jail on $1-million bail.
Minnie Smith, 66, was found Dec. 15 at their home in the 8400 block of Beach Circle. She died from blunt-force trauma to the head, police said.
