Breathe easy? Not with animals near

REGARDING “As Travel Heats Up, More Animals Are Getting Their Wings” [June 19], the airlines and pet owners should realize that it takes only one animal in the shared-air environment of an airplane cabin to ruin someone’s day or create a medical emergency.
A cat sitting next to me is a worry because it could take days to fully recover from the effects of an allergic reaction.
When I see the animal carriers in the airport, I think, “Please, let that person sit next to someone else.”
Let’s remember that it’s people who fly on airplanes and pay for the tickets. I have paid for my comfort on an airplane, such as it is, just as much as the passenger traveling with a pet.
