Don’t grouse; be grateful to police

While traveling, a letter writer was ticketed after parking his car at LAX parking lot C without a front license plate. He is now complaining that LAX is encouraging police to write tickets for technical infractions [Letters, June 5].
If police protection weren’t provided, he could have come back to find that his car had been stripped or perhaps taken away piece by piece.
