San Francisco Hotel Workers OK Strike

Employees at San Francisco hotels, most of whom have been working without a contract since a 2004 strike and lockout, have voted 93% in favor of authorizing union negotiators to call a strike.
The action follows strike authorizations this week for hotels in Honolulu, Chicago and Monterey, Calif., as well as an earlier strike vote in Toronto, where the labor pact expired in January.
