Kansas Surprises Texas

Crystal Kemp scored 21 points and Kansas defeated No. 23-ranked Texas, 70-61, Tuesday night at Lawrence, Kan., in the Big 12 Conference opener for both teams.
The Jayhawks (12-0) ended a 36-game skid against ranked opponents. The Longhorns (6-5) never got closer than seven points in the final minutes.
No. 8 Rutgers 64, Cincinnati 51 -- Michelle Campbell scored 21 points at Cincinnati and the Scarlet Knights (10-1, 2-0 Big East Conference) ended a seven-game winning streak by the Bearcats (10-2, 0-1).
No. 13 DePaul 81, Pittsburgh 75 -- Khara Smith had 29 points and Allie Quigley had 26 at Chicago to help the Blue Demons (14-1, 1-1 Big East) win their seventh consecutive game. Maddy Brown had 18 points for the Panthers (10-3, 1-1).
No. 21 Vanderbilt 72, Western Kentucky 57 -- Liz Sherwood scored a career-high 28 points and the host Commodores (11-3) won their third in a row. Ashley Butler and Crystal Kelly each scored 16 points for the Lady Toppers (10-3).
