South Korea Maritime Survey Angers Japan

Japan demanded that South Korea immediately halt an operation to chart waters claimed by both countries, and sent a coast guard patrol boat to chase the South Korean ship conducting the survey.
Each country claimed that the other’s boat had entered its waters.
Japan said it also might resurrect plans to conduct its own maritime survey of the waters around a group of rocky islets called Takeshima in Japan and Dokdo in South Korea.
