Pomona Freeway Briefly Closes Amid Brush Fire

California Highway Patrol officers closed a section of the Pomona Freeway in both directions for more than an hour Wednesday as fire crews battled a 62-acre brush fire, authorities said.
Fire officials were investigating the cause of the fire, which began just before 1:40 p.m. near Gilman Springs Road and Eucalyptus Avenue.
The blaze was contained by 4 p.m. by 15 fire engines, four helicopters, four air tankers and 107 firefighters.
Officials said the fire did not threaten any homes.
