From Times Wire Reports
The U.S. Army’s 1st Infantry Division, the oldest in continuous service, packed up its flag at a ceremony in Wuerzburg, Germany, where it has been for 10 years.
Much of the equipment attached to the division, known as the Big Red One, has been shipped to its new base at Ft. Riley, Kan., where the colors will be unfurled Aug. 1.
Most of the soldiers have been reassigned, and the rest are to move to Kansas or elsewhere within two weeks.
