Catering to pets, by choice

I really got a good laugh this morning while reading your article [“The Doghouse? Hey, It’s Not So Bad,” Feb. 23].
I realized that we are not alone in our crazy living-with-dogs way of life after shopping for months for the perfect beige-colored linen for my Ralph Lauren-designed couch and chair, and then having them made and remade.
I now have them covered in old towels so that Lucy can watch the world go by from the top of the couch, and Molly can sleep on the soft, down cushions.
I cannot believe I am actually living like this, but I don’t mind a bit because they are the sweetest cockapoos ever.
I haven’t commissioned an artist yet to immortalize them but we have many pictures, and all the holiday cards include Molly and Lucy.
I cannot wait until the stores open today to go look at the fabrics and the carpet squares. Thanks for the article.
