Greasing the political skids on the sled of state

Re “Wide Opposition to Grass-Roots Lobbying Requirement,” March 8
It’s about time that we cracked down on grass-roots political organizations. It is downright un-American that they encourage people to petition their government. They should do it the tried-and-true, conventional way: hire lobbyists to make big political donations, take officeholders to expensive dinners and golf trips to Scotland and keep the political skids so well greased that the sled of state can’t stay on the straight and narrow.
If we curtailed all this petition and letter writing, telephoning and e-mailing, I’d have a lot more time to take my representatives to Spago and Le Dome restaurants to encourage more tax breaks for my offshore corporations.
