Imams, Rabbis Urge Mutual Respect

Imams and rabbis concluded a four-day international congress in Seville by calling on each other and the world to respect their religions.
In a final statement, delegates said that “contrary to widespread misinterpretation, there is no inherent conflict between Islam and Judaism.”
The congress, which brought together more than 250 people from 31 countries, was designed for talks on how to end antagonism and work toward peace.
“Most of the imams have never seen this many rabbis. Most of the rabbis have never seen this many imams,” said Chaim Steinmetz of Canada.
