U.S. Man, Girlfriend Charged With Murder

A Bolivian judge charged an American and his Uruguayan girlfriend with murder in hotel bombings that killed two people and wounded seven in La Paz.
Triston Jay Amero, 24, and his pregnant partner, Alda Ribeiro Acosta, 45, were ordered held in custody by the judge, who said he would consider a psychiatric evaluation for Amero, who has been in and out of mental hospitals, according to court documents. He earlier had identified himself as Lestat Claudius de Orleans y Montevideo.
