BASEBALL
* Michael Johnson, Chino: Drove in the game-winning run with a single in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Cowboys, ranked No. 13 in the Southland by The Times, defeated La Verne Damien, 5-4, in a Sierra League game.
* Casey Fry, Woodland Hills El Camino Real: Yielded one hit and struck out six over four innings of a 12-2 West Valley League victory for the No. 5-ranked Conquistadores over Lake Balboa Birmingham.
SOFTBALL
* Nicole Angene, Norco: Hit a two-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to secure a 7-5 Mountain View League victory for the Cougars, ranked No. 11 by The Times, over No. 12 Corona.
* Samantha Takeshita, Thousand Oaks: Had four hits and scored two runs for the No. 24 Lancers in a 7-1 Marmonte League victory over Calabasas.
* Gabby Smith, Fontana: Set a school record with her 55th career win, a five-hit, eight-strikeout effort in a 4-3 Citrus Belt League victory over Colton.
* Taylor Petty, San Pedro: Reached the 300 career-strikeout mark in the second inning and finished with 13 strikeouts over six innings of a 13-0 Marine League victory over Harbor City Narbonne.
* Desiree Biolley, La Puente: Pitched a no-hitter with 14 strikeouts and came within one error of her second perfect game in as many weeks in a 4-0 Montview League victory over Baldwin Park Sierra Vista.
BOYS’ GOLF
* Spencer Anderson, Brentwood: Earned medalist honors with a three-under-par 33 in a 185-234 Olympic League victory over Whittier Christian.
BOYS’ TENNIS
* Kei Muta and Nicholas Vaccari, Irvine University: Swept 6-3, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles as the Trojans, ranked No. 5 in Southern Section Division I, defeated Rancho Santa Margarita Tesoro 14-4 in a Pacific Coast League match.
TRACK AND FIELD
* Bo Taylor, Newport Harbor: Improved his state-leading discus mark with a 194-3 effort and also won the shot at 57-3 in an 81-54 Sea View League loss to Irvine Woodbridge.
BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL
* Jordan DuFault and Andrew Marques, Bellflower St. John Bosco: DuFault had 22 kills and 17 digs while Marques tallied a career-best 60 assists for the Braves, ranked No. 3 in Division I, in a four-game Serra League win over No. 5 Santa Margarita.
