Chain-Reaction Crash Injures Officer, 3 Others

Four people were injured, three critically, in a chain-reaction crash at Tampa Avenue and Nordoff Street just after 10 p.m. Tuesday, authorities said.
The incident began when an L.A. Unified school police officer stopped to aid two people involved in a minor collision. As the officer was taking a report, a car slammed into his parked patrol car, pushing it into him and breaking his leg. The three occupants of the car were transported to hospitals with critical injuries.
