Ford discloses SEC inquiry into restatement

Ford Motor Co. said it had been contacted by the Securities and Exchange Commission for additional information about its financial restatement this week.

Dearborn, Mich.-based Ford also amended its net loss for the first half of the year to $1.74 billion, compared with the previously reported $1.44 billion.

The automaker had restated results from the last five years to correctly account for interest rate derivatives used to hedge longer-term debt.
