Correa widens lead over Daucher for state Senate

Democrat Lou Correa increased his lead over Republican Lynn Daucher to 783 votes Friday in the fight for an Orange County state Senate seat.
Correa has 55,147 votes, or 50%, to Daucher’s 54,364, or 49.2%. Otto Bade, a write-in candidate funded by Democrats in the last days of the race who positioned himself as the conservative alternative to the moderate Daucher, has 899 votes.
Officials counted 2,125 ballots Friday out of an estimated 2,800 to 4,000 remaining. The count could be completed Monday.
