Churchgoers prayed for rain today in hopes of breaking the worst drought to hit Australian farmers in more than a century, devastating crops and bankrupting many.
“We’re praying for rain, that God might bless us with rains,” Archbishop Philip Wilson, president of the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference, who called for the national day of prayer.
