Protester of Protest Arrested on Warrant

A 23-year-old man wanted for an alleged immigration violation was arrested Saturday after spitting at demonstrators protesting illegal immigration, authorities said.
Hugo Maldonado, whose address was not released, was driving past a group of some 40 protesters at Jeronimo Lane and Orange Street about 8:30 a.m. when he spat at them through his window, authorities said. When deputies tried to detain him, he abandoned his car and fled, sheriff’s spokeswoman Lt. V. Wilson said.
