Microsoft forms new ad group

Microsoft Corp., after closing its $6-billion acquisition of AQuantive Inc., is creating an online advertising group led by AQuantive Chief Executive Brian McAndrews in an effort to catch up with Google Inc.
The group will include Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft’s software for selling ads for the Internet, video games and mobile phones, and AQuantive’s Avenue A/Razorfish agency.
