County records year’s first West Nile victim

An 85-year-old man visiting from Los Angeles has become San Diego County’s first known West Nile virus victim for 2007, county health officials said Thursday. The man is in stable condition in a local hospital.
Also Thursday, the county veterinarian reported a third horse in the Jamul area has West Nile virus. Twenty-five birds have also tested positive.
