Vivendi reported a modest 1.2% rise in fourth-quarter revenue as stronger results from video games helped make up for lower sales at its Universal Music and SFR mobile phone units.
The French media and telecommunications company reported fourth-quarter revenue of 5.55 billion euros ($7.19 billion), up from 5.48 billion euros a year earlier. The figure fell short of the 5.65-billion-euro average estimate by 10 analysts surveyed by Dow Jones Newswires.
Universal Music, the world’s recorded music sales leader, posted a 1.5% drop in revenue to 1.66 billion euros. SFR dropped 1.4% to 2.18 billion euros.
