Feminists had their festival

Re the 25th anniversary of Outfest, the Gay & Lesbian Film Festival [“Out on the Town,” July 12]:
It wasn’t a gay and lesbian festival, but the Sister film festival in Haines Hall at UCLA that ran three days in 1973 with some standing-room only crowds featuring Katharine Hepburn in “Christopher Strong” and Greta Garbo in “Queen Christina,” among other films. Sister was an L.A. feminist newspaper.
Some people complained that lesbians were taking over the festival. (P.S. We were.)
