Shooting of driver ties up northbound 710 Freeway

Authorities late Tuesday were investigating a shooting that wounded one person on or around the northbound 710 Freeway near South Humphreys Avenue in East Los Angeles.
The occupant of a gray Mercedes was struck and was taken to a hospital by Los Angles County Fire Department paramedics.
The victim’s condition and gender weren’t immediately available.
The northbound lanes of the 710 Freeway were closed for several hours after the 10:15 p.m. shooting.
Traffic was being diverted to the Pomona Freeway.
