Man is shot to death near USC campus

A Latino man in his early 20s was killed in a shooting less than half a mile from the USC campus Saturday, authorities said.
The shooting took place in the 200 block of East 30th Street, a residential area of apartments and houses, about 10 p.m., Sgt. Chris Gomez of the Los Angeles Police Department said.
Homicide detectives were canvassing the area late Saturday night.
