Pipeline explosion kills 28 workers

An explosion and fire on a gas pipeline killed 28 workers in eastern Saudi Arabia, the Saudi national oil company Aramco said.
The fire broke out while contract workers were linking a new pipe to the line about 20 miles from Aramco’s Hawiyah gas plant, the company said. Aramco, the world’s largest oil producer, did not specify how many people were injured or give the victims’ nationalities.
